Morning rituals...

Rituals are important to us to keep a balance in life. My morning ritual is simple and includes coffee, my journal, and pens. Since several years I start my day by the kitchen table, writing down my thoughts and ideas, dreams and wishes, plans for the day ~ or for the future ~ in my journal while having my morning coffee. It gives me time to wake up and creates a kind of inner balance in my thoughts, and emotions, and help me start the day off right. I admit that it may not be everybody's way to start the day in a good fashion, but it works for me and I am grateful for the peaceful start of my day.

Mostly, as I say above, I start my day by the kitchen table, but during warm days I like to sit in the morning sun on the balcony and listen to the early morning concert performed by all different kind of birds. It is a pleasure, and a nice way to relax in the here and now before the day start. I know that not everyone have the time to spend on relaxing in the morning, I have been a single mom with all that goes with it, and it can be difficult to find time for oneself when life is on warp speed. But I also know it is necessay to take some time to focus on what makes one happy ~ to be able to continue to take care of others. And now that I don't work, this is my everyday luxury that keeps me happy and sane.  lol So I stick with my habit of writing and daydreaming with pen in hand. And I am grateful for the inner peace it gives me.

Diary...

I haven't always kept a diary. It's only for the last 10 - 15 years of the almost 60 first years of my life that I have felt the joy in writing down my thoughts and dreams, ideas and...some of my experiences, in a journal. But by now it has become part of a morning ritual that is necessary to make my day feel right. And it is a habit that I recommend to all who wish to try it.

When putting my thoughts on paper, they can be released out into the Universe ~ and they no longer have to occupy space in my brain. It works for me. I also see my dreams and wishes before my eyes in a much clearer and more real way than if I only go around and think about them. That works, too...for me.

Morning magic

I love sunrises... and sunsets. But especially the sunrise as it is, for me, symbolic with hope of a new beginning. Every morning a new day begins, and as we start our day ~ we start again with clean slates...ready for a new beginning.
